In the UK, O2 is a leading provider for mobile and broadband services, for business users and customers. O2 was launched in 2001, after the de-merger of British Telecom. They are the leaders in non-voice services such as texts, games, media messaging, music and videos. In addition to all this, O2 is supporting our planet and the people through their Think Big programme.

O2's Think Big Programme

O2's Think Big Programme

The Think Big programme aims to help local communities for the better, by helping young people and their ideas. If you’re a young person aged between 13 and 25, or know someone that is, they can apply for an award for their projects. They can also benefit from mentoring, training and support that is provided. Once they have received their initial grant, they also get the chance to apply for a further £2,500, and greater intensive training, to help their project along.

Remember all the profits that come from O2 Recycled go to their Think Big programme, and all the items that you send to them, are recycled and reused carefully, thus helping to protect the environment.

As well as helping you make money out of your gadgets, and helping the environment, they also want to get fresh ideas out of us. They want us to look at problems differently and finding ways to use technology to improve the world we live in. Which is why they have decided to help young people, to get them to start thinking about the environment from a young age.

With O2 recycle you can recycle your old mobile phone and other gadgets and get some money for them. It’s really simple to do, and you don’t have to be an O2 customer to recycle with them.

To recycle you phone, iPod, sat nav or camera, simply search for the item in a listed menu. Once you have selected your gadget, add this to your basket and go the checkout. Send your gadget in an envelope and include your order summary (postage is free). Once your item has been received, they will either send you a cheque or pay money into your bank account within 5 days.

Tips:
- If the item is expensive, then always send it by registered post
- Charge your phone before sending it to them
- Always remove your sim or memory card
- Delete all personal data from the device
